Since 1986, The Freese Brothers Big Band has presented dozens of scholarship awards totaling $39,535 to enable talented high school musicians to enhance their musical skills. The Band has awarded scholarships to young musicians from many communities in New Hampshire, including, Alton, Boscawen, Bow, Chichester, Concord, Loudon, Manchester, and Pittsfield.
Our scholarships are awarded to 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students. Our winners return their high schools to share what they have learned with their classmates, and to help improve their school and community music programs. They also let us know about their experiences at the summer programs they attended.
We would love to share their excitement with you! Check out our "Recipients Notes" page to see what they have to say!
The Scholarship Fund is supported by a portion of our performance fees and by tax deductible contributions from the public. A significant portion of the Scholarship Fund is managed by the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation. We invite you to support young musicians in the area with your own contribution. If you would like to do so, please contact the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation at 225-6641.
Scholarship applications have closed for this year. Please check back in the Spring of 2011 for the next opportunity to apply. Thank you!
